Selected Mission Projects
TRUSTBUILDERS' MISSION is to build trust among God's people. Trusting God will help people find their sense of purpose and moral boundaries in a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to live in a way that brings blessings to the people around us.
Our Strategy:
- Offer oline resources for personal, group, and church use that inspire faith, hope, love, and trustworthiness.
- Ask for gifts to help support Christ centered ministries with people coming through correctional systems. The projects we have selected are listed below.
Our Reason for supporting Christ centered prison and re-entry ministries.
One of the most urgent crisis our nation faces is the number of people who are being released from our prison system with very little to go on. They don't have very much more than their freedom. Where will they go when they come back to your community? What will they do? What difference will they make? Spiritual Grit is essential for these people as they face a new life.
You probably remember that a number of years ago our nation decided to "get tough on crime" by handing out longer jail sentences and prison terms. These people have served their time, and it's time for them to come back to us. Are they ready now to earn an honest living and take a constructive place in your community?
Will it make a difference to you if these people have the opportunity to know Christ as they return? We think it will.
That's why TRUSTBUILDERS have begun to identify ministries positioned to offer "spiritual grit" through Jesus Christ and ask you to help with their support. Your gift will be divided among four vital projects--we hope to add more as support grows.
- Prison Congregations of America: www.prisoncongregations.org This group has helped to start and support churches in prisons which bring people to Christ and provide a church where people may belong to the body of Christ and cultivate their faith as they anticipate their day of freedom.
- Faith in Community Ministry: This Indiana based group builds teams in local churches that are ready to help bring people back into the faith community when they are released from prison.
- Women at the Well Church: This unique church is located in the Iowa Women's Correctional Facility located in Mitchellville, Iowa. It is serving to bring people to Christ and helping people to live within God's love while they are incarcerated. Women at the Well Church is also actively interested in finding churches that will receive prisoners when they are released and go back to their communities.
- TRUSTBUILDERS: to provide resources for building "Spiritual Grit" and to help provide financial support for ministries that help people find Christ in prison and help people released from prison find their way into the faith community.
